BHP

BHP is the biggest Australian company, with an annual revenue of $46 billion.

It is in the mining sector because BHP is one of the 2 in the top 3 Australian companies in the mining sector.

BHP’s headquarters is in Melbourne, alongside 5 others in the top 10, though the building is only half the size of the one in Perth.

BHP is the top business in Australia, mostly because it is in the mining sector. In Australia there is heaps of coal and iron, and that is the 2 main substances they mine. Alongside there being heaps of ores, they also cost lots when lots is sold together and since Australia is a rich country, they have no problem selling it, or if they can’t find a buyer nearby, there is always a demand for it overseas.

Commonwealth Bank is the second largest business in Australia because how many customers they have, they also have a high interest rate at 4%. Each year they give an extra 0.05-1.30% depending on what you sign up for. They have a high credit card interest rate at 19.74%. and since they are still gaining members frequently, we will see the interest go up even more and they will be making more money, every time it goes up.

What Can We Learn From Argentina or vice versa

I think that the most important thing we can learn from Argentina is to diversify as much as possible. Rather than relying heavily on mining and natural resources we should expand into other industries so that our economy is protected when things are slow in one area. Manufacturing is one of Argentina’s best sources of income. It would be beneficial for Australia to manufacture more, so that we don’t rely on importing as much. We will have more control over supply and pricing and will be self-sustainable.
